  About Us

More than just measuring outcomes, we help improve them

In 1992, a group of practicing clinicians came together to develop a reliable, valid, and clinically useful system to measure, report on in real-time, and ultimately help improve behavioral health outcomes. Their efforts led to the development of our core products and the founding of our company.

Every BHL product and service reflects a clinician-focused philosophy appropriate for all disciplines relating to behavioral health. From solo practice offices to large integrated delivery systems, all providers can easily use the BHL system to obtain sophisticated client assessments and outcome reports.

Today, with the country's largest customer base, largest database, leading strategic partnerships, and best-in-class outcome management tools, BHL has attracted the leading names in behavioral health research.

Our consultants help organizations customize outcome management services to accommodate their unique settings and populations, integrate outcome measurement throughout all continuous quality improvement initiatives, and retool their organizations to meet HIPAA, JCAHO, and other accreditation and regulatory standards.

Founding Principles

Data Accuracy
In order to protect the accuracy of our database, we include only data that we have processed and evaluated for authenticity. At every level of data collection, storing, processing, and reporting, BHL has built in multiple methods to prevent or eliminate as many sources of data distortion as possible.

Client Confidentiality
In the BHL database, there is no client-specific identifying information. There are no Social Security Numbers, no names, addresses, or phone numbers; just a random code number that only the provider can link back to a specific client. In our system, providers and payers contractually control who has access to the data. Provider specific data will never be released to another party without explicit written permission. The BHL system exceeds all HIPAA requirements.

Immediate and Actionable Results
Immediate access to clinical information allows providers to use the BHL system for more than the collection of outcome data. The BHL QuickACCESS reports, delivered within minutes, include decision support features that make work easier and more efficient, while at the same time improving outcomes.
